Dr. Sathwik R Shetty is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Manipal Hospitals Old Airport Road.He combines his formal training with advanced fellowships abroad  to offer a broad spectrum of neurosurgical care — from tumour and skull-base surgery to functional procedures like DBS and epilepsy surgery. Dr. Shetty’s multi-disciplinary skill set makes him suited for complex neurological conditions: brain tumours, movement disorders, refractory epilepsy, spine , neuro-trauma, cerebrovascular disease. Additionally, he was awarded the ‘Best Paper’ award at the Annual Conference of the Skull Base Surgery Society of India (SBSSI) in 2015 for his take on Persistent Sternberg's canal as a rare cause of CSF rhinorrhoea. Dr. Shetty's expertise has additionally brought about invitations to speak at meetings and make contributions to courses. He has spoken about his understanding and insights at activities like NEUROVASCON 2013 and NEUROCON 2013, the once-a-year meetings of the Neurological Society of India (NSI) and Cerebrovascular Surgeons of India, respectively. He worked as a visiting neurosurgeon in the Department of Neurosurgery at Helsinki University Central Hospital in Finland in 2015.
