Sena Kalyan Sangstha & Apollo Hospitals Group-India To Help Cancer Care

A scientific seminar on advances in cancer care was held by Sena Kalyan Sangstha and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. The programme was organized as part of a strategic collaboration between Sena Kalyan's welfare section and Apollo Hospitals Group-India.
Brig. General Shafique Shamim, MD and CEO of Sena Kalyan Insurance Co. Ltd., presided over the function, and Sena Kalyan was represented by Air Commodore Md. Shaharul Huda, Director General, Welfare Division, and Col. Shehabuddin Hassan, Head of Business Division. Brig. General Shafique Shamim thanked the Apollo team and appreciated the Welfare Division's efforts. He went on to say that such measures will benefit both the clinical community and the patient community. Air Commodore Md. Shahrul Huda stated that he is delighted to organize such a session and elaborated on the Whats App Second Medical Opinion service (01329672100), which was unveiled during the event. In his statement, Dr. K. Hariprasad, Group President of Apollo Hospitals, appreciated Sena Kalyan's leadership and stated that Apollo Hospitals treasures its four-decade-long connection with the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. He also added that the Onco hotline will assist patients and connect the medical community.
Dr. P. Mahadev, Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist, Apollo Cancer Institute, Chennai, spoke about the most advanced Cyber Knife Robotic Radio Surgery and Southeast Asia's only proton beam therapy, and Dr. Ajith Pai, Senior Consultant Surgical Oncologist and Robotic Surgeon, spoke about advancements in robotics in oncology and HIPEC.
Mr. Jithu Jose, Vice President, International Division, Apollo Hospitals, expressed gratitude to Sena Kalyan for organising the event. Mr. Shafeeq Azam and Dr. Mokter Hossain from Apollo's Dhaka office attended the event.

Sena Kalyan Sangstha (SKS) started its journey as Post War Services Reconstruction Fund. After the Indo-Pak partition it was known as Fauji Foundation. Fauji Foundation was renamed as Sena Kalyan Sangstha on 01 July 1972 by the directives of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
