How to get Medical Visa to India From UAE (United Arab Emirates)

Medical Visa Application Guide for treatment in India from UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, and Fujairah)

Eligibility

  • Only applicants who are traveling to another country for medical treatment are eligible to apply for a medical visa.
  • The applicant should seek medical treatment at a recognized/reputed/specialized hospital/healthcare centre in India.
  • The patient may be accompanied by up to two medical attendants during his or her medical travel. The medical attendant could be a family member or a close associate.
  • If the medical attendant accompanying the patient to India is his or her family or spouse, they will be granted a miscellaneous visa co-terminus with the patient's medical visa.
  • The list of treatments for which a patient may seek medical treatment is not exhaustive. It includes neurosurgery, joint replacements, ophthalmic disorders, renal disorders, cardiac problems, congenital disorders, organ transplants, radiotherapy, plastic surgery, and gene therapy.

Documents required

  • Print out your completely filled legible online visa application form.
  • Two recent color passport-size photographs.
  • The photograph should be taken against a white background.
  • If the applicant is wearing a local white Arabic headgear, the background should be light blue.
  • The applicant should be dressed in dark-colored garments.
  • The photo should be 51 × 51 mm in size.
  • The photo should have a frontal view of the applicant.
  • Both ears, and all facial features from chin to forehead, should be clearly visible.
  • There should be no shadows on the face or in the background.
  • Applicant’s expression should be natural in the photo.
  • The photos should not be older than three months.
  • Original passport with a 6-month validity period and two blank pages, and photocopies of the first five pages.
  • Referral letter or preliminary medical advice from the Abu Dhabi or Al Ain Hospital stating the need fro a medical treatment in India.
  • A letter from the Indian hospital that is involved stating its willingness to treat the patient.
  • Passport should be valid for at least 6 months and consisting of 2 blank pages.
  • A proof of residence is required from GCC nationals. They have to fill up the reference form (One copy).
  • Only if they will be traveling with the applicant, the applicant's family member may submit an application.
  • Minors (under 18) require a non-objection certificate signed by both parents. Parent’s signatures should match the ones on their respective passports.
  • UAE Residents with visas granted in Abu Dhabi or Al-Ain residing in Dubai or the Northern Emirates must provide a copy of their address proof (tenancy contract, phone bill, or utility bill).

Online Medical Visa Application

  • Enter the required information, including your country's name, high commission, visa type, nationality, birthdate, email address, and anticipated arrival date in India.
  • Click Continue after inputting the access code.
  • The online application form has three pages. Click Save and Continue at the bottom of each page after you've filled them out correctly.
  • Enter information regarding your family address and your profession or occupation.
  • Fill out the medical visa application with necessary information about the hospitals in your country and India, duration of treatment, the number of required entries, the purpose of visit, expected date of travel, expected time of arrival and departure, other specifics, and information about SAARC country visit with reference.
  • If you are solely traveling to India for treatment with Health Connect Internationals help and do not already have a reference in India, you can submit our office address and the patient relations contact number shown here.
  • Upload your picture by clicking on upload photo or paste it after you take out a print of the filled application form.
  • After clicking Save and Continue on the third page, a preview of the application form with all your details will appear.
  • Check them thoroughly and click on modify/Edit to make any changes.
  • Click Verified and Continue if every information you submitted into the form is accurate.
  • Before clicking OK to complete registration, carefully read the instructions that appear in the new window. Click Cancel to modify the details.
  • In the window that appears after clicking OK, select the appointment date to submit the application. Click on Confirm the Appointment.
  • There will be a new window with two options to Print or Save. Before printing, save your application to avoid losing it.
  • To print a copy of your application form, click Print Registered Application.
  • If you haven’t uploaded your photo in the online application form, then paste it manually in the printed application photo box on the first page. The photograph should be exactly the same size as the box (2inch X 2inch).
  • Sign the rectangular box just below the photo box. Repeat in the box at the bottom of the second page.
  • Finally, submit the application form along with the required documents to the Application Centre during working hours on the date specified in the right margin of the application.

  • UAE to India is ED 445 (USD 121) for 1 year
  • BLS Services charges AED 37.5 (USD 10)

Medical Visa Information After Your Arrival in India

Medical Visa Extension

When the patient requires more time to recover, beyond the stipulated departure date visa extension is required. In this case, to extend his or her stay in India the Patient needs to present the required documents and an official letter from the Hospital Authority to the FRRO office . The letter must state his or her ailment, treatment procedure and the number of days he or she would take to recover completely to go back to his or her country.

FRRO

The Foreign Regional Registration Office oversees registration, extension of departure visas, and other details pertaining to foreign nationals' passports, visas, and stays in India.

Foreigners must register themselves in the FRRO office once they arrive India. The documents that are required for FRRO registration are mentioned below :

  • Application form.
  • Photocopy of the passport and the initial visa.
  • Four photographs of the applicant.
  • Indian residential address and details.

E-Tourist Visa from U.A.E to India

When patients need short-term medical treatments or checkups, an e-tourist visa can be used for medical travel. The documents required for E-tourist visa are mentioned below.

  • PDF version of the scanned first page of the passport.
  • The size of the PDF should be between 10KB to 300KB.
  • A digital photograph with the following criteria should be uploaded :
  • 10KB to 1MB.
  • The height and width of the photo should be equal.
  • Photo should have full face, front view and eyes open.
